Surviving Tough Economic Times. Together.

The current global economic crisis is something we hear about on a daily basis. From watching our investments as they slowly dwindle to facing the harsh reality of job losses, we are all affected in some way.

As we speak to our clients, we hear of early retirement packages, layoffs and restructuring. So, we have been asking ourselves and our clients, "How can we help?"

We have had a variety of responses from our clients, but the bottom line is they need to stay lean, make sure they are working as effectively and efficiently as possible and keep their clients satisfied.

I would respectfully like to bring this a step further. Whether you're an employee in a large multi-national or a small business owner, this may be an opportunity for you to shine. Are you being proactive or reactive? Can you improve current processes? Can you speed up production of reports and other business documents? Are you displaying the necessary level of leadership, regardless of whether you're a team leader or team member?

What about your clients? Will they remember that you kept their needs front and center throughout this crisis? If your answer is, "yes", then chances are good that you are building customer loyalty and creating a win/win situation. If your answer is, "I hadn't really thought about it", there is a possibility that your clients may look elsewhere the next time they require your products and/or services.

So, while these are trying times, they may also be looked at as a positive. You can do what it takes to be focused, lean and productive and to provide the best customer service you can. In the long run, this will only help the health of your company and will set you apart from your competition.
